#27 has a classic shaped body with a peghead like an electric guitar. The in-line tuners are half of a mandolin set. It has a relatively thin body (1 5/8" wide sides). The book matched back is from a really nice piece of spalted sycamore. The neck and the sides are from the same piece, but show no spalting. The book matched top is also nicely figured.

Note - #27 developed a small crack in it's back due to humidity fluctuations over the winter. It's been repaired, and does not effect the sound.
